May you rest in peace

I was shocked to know about the news.
My absolute all time favourite is now no longer with us.
I feel truely saddened and shocked by the news.
Been following the news all day.
Its breathtaking to see how one man can have such an impact to the world.
You are truly a Legend. May Allah bless your soul.
We miss you.

Scrapbook Layout ~ I knew I Could

Journaling ~ Just watching how you admire your medal meant so much to me.
This moment, time stood still for you.
You were always very conscious of your reactions.
But at this point in time, you did what you did.
you stared at the every detail of the medal,
didn't care what everybody else were doing but you did what you did.
You felt a sense of achievement and you showed it.
I'm so proud of you, so proud.

Material used: Patterned Papers are Basic Grey, Making Memories, Sassafrass Lass, Cosmo Cricket, KI Memories. German Scraps for the Silver Border.

Scrapbook Layout ~ WILD & FREE

Journaling ~ Just as soon as I thought you are over the terrible twos phase, here you are still fussing about your superhero outfits. I have always make sure I know where they are at all times. Spontaneously, you'll ask for them. Your favourites are your batman mask, superman cape, and your spiderman mask. Big fuss if they cannot be found. Worst thing is you have to match them to what you're wearing. Spiderman mask with spiderman pyjamas, no more no less. They all have to match. Its that or nothing! And I really thought the terrible twos phase was over.

Materials used: Hambly Studios Overlays, Yellow Bicycle and SassaFrass Lass Patterned Paper, Dimensional Paints (green & gold), Fancy Pants rub ons, Number rubber stamps by Art Warehouse Limited Edition, number glitter stickers are by Making Memories.

Scrapbook Layout ~ You are beautiful.

Journaling~ You play hard. You cry hard.
Many times I run out of ideas as how to control the mood you're in.
But you are beautiful.
You are very sensitive, too sensitive you become very expressive.
You have a very kind heart, too kind you get sad easily.
But you are beautiful.
Inside and out.
Materials used: Cosmo Cricket Patterned Paper, Autumn Leaves Overlays, gauze, Scenic Route chipboards, dimensional paint.

Scrapbook Layout ~ My Rock Chick

After a whole week of hassle and bussle, I finally got some downtime to scrap. Can you believe it after hours and hours of preparing for the event, I actually want to scrap? Naturally, a day after the event, I was dead tired and just wanted some quiet time to myself. After a few days of quiet time (that's as much as I can take), however, I had the urge to make something. I needed to create. My very few layouts I did over the weekend.

I guess it was all from the showcase where I got inspired by the projects the ladies brought to show and tell, I got my juices going and I felt the need to create.

Journaling~
I don't wanna miss one single transformation of you.
You now like anything rock.
I guess its all gotta do with Hannah Montana.
You now want to be a rock star.
I was never a rock chick.
I don't know what a rock chick goes thru.
I don't know how to dress like one, or act like one.
But what I do know is that you're my rock chick.

Scrapbook Showcase

I'm very excited to be hosting our 2nd Anniversary, a Scrapbook Showcase. Yes, time flies and now we're two. I remembered we spent the first year celebration quietly after we had to be relocated to the first floor and now here we are.

I decided to have a showcase to blast to all Malaysians and then some, what a great hobby it is and to emphasies on how creativity can benefit us in some little ways. I am grateful that all the Designers that are taking part too in the event. Its going to be great to have make & takes and a full display of all things created with love by the Designers themselves.

They'll all be there to support Scrappingville, I truly truly think they are all very very sweet to help and also put together a sample project in a very short amount of time just to make this happen. I truly am grateful.

You'll see NillaMichelle, Sharon K, Catherine, Yatie all there to teach at the make & takes stations. You'll get to meet them personally to talk about scrapping, techniques, learn a few things or more.

For now, we @ Scrappingville are doing the preparations for the event, and hope everything goes smoothly.. and who knows, with this, we'll be able to expand the scrapping community and to improve or widen the perception of our crafty industry.

Rachel Grieg, Art Retreat, Day 2

A snapshot of the detail stamping that goes into finishing a page. Don't you just love the lamp post? I know I do..

I stuck the accordion album onto the back of the tin. I'm gonna put this on display in the showcase on 26 May 2009.
First Page.
The Accordion Pages. Inside.
Front Cover. Tin Cover.

So I didn't think I could make it for another round of the Art Retreat but hubby knew I really wanted to go, he insisted, so I went for Day 2! We made this beautiful tin Album with 4 different distress inks, alcohol inks for cover, Archival inks with Darkroom very own brand of photo chips and stamps. I'm really loving their stamps at the moment.

Its amazing how I feel when I get to attend such event, I get really inspired and can't wait to create even more and more. Even more so because the feeling of finishing something we've started couple of hours ago is very achieving.

Creating is a getaway for me and I really feel its great for the soul. Now I'm happy.

Rachel Grieg's Art Retreat

I made sure I went to bed early last night because I know I'll need full concentration today, an all day art retreat, or was it I couldn't wait for it. It was utterly the most exciting class ever.. playing with ink pads, the different colours, techniques I have always wanted to try but never got around trying or finishing, really.

An exciting day, creating all day, is so refreshing, a breakaway from my daily routine. We started at 9am, break for lunch, carried on until 5pm. Not to mention the coffees in between, talking and chatting to others who also loves the same hobby, is indescribable and most fun.

Anyways, here is my take on Rachel's mini album class,
